Traditional Southern Pimento Cheese

Ingredients

8 oz sharp cheddar cheese, grated
4 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup diced pimentos, drained
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. In a large mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese and mayonnaise, stirring until smooth.
2. Add grated cheddar cheese, diced pimentos, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
3. Stir until all ingredients are thoroughly mixed.
4. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
5. Transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow flavors to meld.

Storage

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.

Reheating

Enjoy cold directly from the refrigerator.
