Prep time: 5 minutesCook time: 10 minutesServes: 4
Ingredients
1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
2 tbsp unsalted butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 tbsp lemon juice (optional)
Instructions
1. Blanch the green beans by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the green beans and cook for 2-3 minutes until bright green and crisp-tender. Drain and immediately transfer to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Once cooled, drain and set aside.
2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
3. Add the blanched green beans to the skillet. Season with salt and black pepper. Toss to combine and sauté for 5-7 minutes, until the beans are heated through and have absorbed the flavors.
4. Optionally, add lemon juice just before serving for a fresh, citrusy kick. Serve warm.
Storage
Store leftover green beans in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Reheating
To reheat, sauté in a pan over medium heat for 3-4 minutes or until warmed through. Alternatively, heat in the microwave in 30-second intervals until hot.
