Traditional Mashed Potato Casserole
A comforting and hearty dish featuring creamy mashed potatoes baked to perfection with a golden, cheesy topping.

Ingredients
4 lbs russet potatoes, peeled and cubed
1 cup whole milk
4 tbsp unsalted butter
1 cup sour cream
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 cup chopped green onions
1/4 cup breadcrumbs
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. In a large pot, boil the cubed potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15 minutes.
3. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
4. Add milk, butter, sour cream, salt, and pepper to the potatoes.
5. Mash the potatoes until smooth and creamy.
6. Stir in half of the cheddar cheese and green onions.
7. Transfer the mashed potatoes to a greased casserole dish.
8. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese and breadcrumbs evenly over the top.
9. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the top is golden brown.
10. Let cool slightly before serving.
Storage
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Reheating
To reheat, bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes or until heated through.
