Traditional Macaroni Salad

A classic, creamy macaroni salad perfect for summer picnics and barbecues, featuring tender elbow macaroni, crisp vegetables, and a tangy dressing.

Ingredients

1 lb elbow macaroni
1 cup mayonnaise
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
1 cup diced celery
1/2 cup diced red onion
1/2 cup diced green bell pepper
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
2 hard-boiled eggs, chopped
2 tbsp sweet pickle relish

Instructions

1. Cook macaroni according to package instructions, drain, and rinse with cold water.
2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, sugar, salt, and pepper.
3. Add the cooked macaroni, celery, red onion, green bell pepper, parsley, hard-boiled eggs, and pickle relish to the dressing.
4. Stir until all ingredients are well combined and coated with the dressing.
5. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow flavors to meld.

Storage

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheating

Best served cold. Do not reheat; consume directly from the refrigerator.
