Traditional Mac and Cheese

Ingredients
8 oz elbow macaroni
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup unsalted butter
2 cups whole milk
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Cook macaroni according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
3. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour, salt, pepper, and nutmeg until smooth.
4. Gradually whisk in milk, cooking and stirring until thickened.
5. Remove from heat and stir in cheddar cheese until melted.
6. Combine cheese sauce with macaroni and mix well.
7. Transfer mixture to a greased baking dish.
8. In a small bowl, mix breadcrumbs with Parmesan cheese, then sprinkle over the macaroni mixture.
9. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden and bubbly.
Storage
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Reheating
Reheat in a preheated oven at 350°F for 15 minutes or until heated through.
