Traditional Italian Bruschetta

Ingredients
4 slices of rustic Italian bread
2 large ripe tomatoes, diced
1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
2. Slice the Italian bread and arrange it on a baking sheet.
3. Toast the bread slices in the oven for about 5 minutes or until golden brown.
4. In a bowl, combine diced tomatoes, chopped basil, minced garlic, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper.
5. Spoon the tomato mixture on top of the toasted bread slices evenly.
6. Serve immediately for the best flavor.
Storage
Store any leftover tomato topping in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Store toasted bread separately in a cool, dry place.
Reheating
Reheat the toasted bread in the oven at 350°F for 5 minutes if necessary; serve with cold tomato topping.
