Traditional Homestyle Corn Bread

Ingredients
1 cup cornmeal
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup buttermilk
2 large eggs
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease an 8-inch square baking pan.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
3. In another bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, eggs, and melted butter.
4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
7. Allow to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Storage
Store cooled corn bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
Reheating
Reheat individual slices in the microwave for 20-30 seconds or warm in a preheated 350°F oven for about 5 minutes.
