Ingredients
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
1 teaspoon sugar
3/4 cup warm water (110°F)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup pizza sauce
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
1/4 cup sliced black olives
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
2. Add warm water and olive oil, then mix until a soft dough forms.
3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 6-8 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm area for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
5. Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C).
6. Punch down the dough and roll it out to fit a 12-inch pizza pan.
7. Spread pizza sauce over the crust, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
8. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce, then add pepperoni and olives.
9. Sprinkle oregano and basil over the toppings.
10. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden brown and cheese is bubbly.
11. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
Storage
Store any leftover pizza covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Reheating
To reheat, place slices on a baking sheet and warm in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes or until heated through.
