Traditional Egg Rolls

Authentic traditional egg rolls featuring a savory filling wrapped in a crispy shell, perfect as a delightful appetizer or a crowd-pleasing party treat.

Ingredients

1 lb ground pork
2 cups shredded cabbage
1 cup shredded carrots
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tsp ginger, grated
3 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp sesame oil
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
20 egg roll wrappers
Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

1. In a large skillet, heat sesame oil over medium heat and add garlic and ginger, sauté until aromatic.
2. Add ground pork, salt, and pepper, and cook until browned.
3. Stir in cabbage, carrots, and soy sauce, cooking until vegetables are tender.
4. Allow the filling to cool slightly before wrapping.
5. Lay an egg roll wrapper flat and place 2 tablespoons of filling on the wrapper.
6. Fold the bottom corner over the filling, then fold in sides and roll tightly. Seal the edges with a dab of water.
7. Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer to 350°F and fry egg rolls in batches until golden brown, about 3-5 minutes per batch.
8. Drain on paper towels before serving.

Storage

Store leftover egg rolls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheating

Reheat egg rolls in an oven preheated to 350°F for 10-12 minutes, or until heated through and crispy.
