Traditional Cranberry Salad

Ingredients

3 cups fresh cranberries
1 cup granulated sugar
1 orange, juiced and zested
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1 apple, cored and diced
1 cup red grapes, halved
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup whipped cream

Instructions

1. Rinse the fresh cranberries and place them in a food processor. Pulse until finely chopped.
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped cranberries and granulated sugar. Mix well and let sit for at least 30 minutes to macerate.
3. Add the orange juice, orange zest, chopped walnuts, diced apple, halved grapes, and salt to the cranberry mixture. Stir until all ingredients are well combined.
4. Gently fold in the whipped cream until the salad is evenly coated.
5. Cover and refrigerate the salad for at least 1 hour to allow flavors to meld before serving.

Storage

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheating

This salad is best served cold and does not require reheating.
