Traditional Chop Suey
Traditional Chop Suey is a delightful stir-fry dish combining tender meat, crisp vegetables, and a savory sauce for a satisfying and flavorful meal that has its roots in Chinese-American cuisine.

Ingredients
1 lb chicken breast, sliced thin
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 cup sliced celery
1 cup sliced bell peppers
1 cup bean sprouts
1 cup sliced mushrooms
1 small onion, sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water
Salt to taste
Black pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Heat 1 tbsp of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
2. Add the sliced chicken breast and stir-fry until cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
3. In the same skillet, add remaining oil and sauté garlic and onion until fragrant.
4. Add celery, bell peppers, mushrooms, and sauté for 3-4 minutes until vegetables are slightly tender.
5. Return cooked chicken to the skillet and add bean sprouts, soy sauce, oyster sauce.
6. Pour the cornstarch mixture into the skillet, stirring continuously until the sauce thickens.
7. Season with salt and black pepper to taste and serve hot.
Storage
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Reheating
Reheat in a skillet over medium heat, adding a splash of water if needed, until heated through.
