Traditional Chicken Casserole

Ingredients
2 lbs chicken breast, cubed
1 cup carrots, sliced
1 cup peas
2 cups potatoes, diced
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups chicken broth
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup butter
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp thyme
1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat and sauté onions and garlic until translucent.
3. Add flour to the pot, stirring constantly to form a roux.
4. Gradually whisk in chicken broth and heavy cream, cooking until thickened.
5. Season the sauce with salt, pepper, and thyme.
6. Stir in chicken, carrots, peas, and potatoes, mixing well to coat with the sauce.
7. Transfer mixture to a casserole dish and sprinkle cheddar cheese on top.
8. Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes until golden and bubbling.
9. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Storage
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Reheating
Reheat in a preheated oven at 350°F for 15 minutes or until heated through.
