Traditional Caprese Salad

Ingredients

8 oz fresh mozzarella
3 ripe tomatoes
1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 tbsp balsamic reduction
1/2 tsp sea salt
1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

1. Slice the mozzarella and tomatoes into 1/4 inch thick rounds.
2. Arrange the tomato and mozzarella slices on a platter, alternating between each.
3. Tuck fresh basil leaves between the slices.
4. Drizzle extra virgin olive oil evenly over the salad.
5. Add a balsamic reduction drizzle for sweetness and depth of flavor.
6. Season with sea salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
7. Serve immediately for best flavor.
