Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 cups apples, peeled and thinly sliced
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup raisins

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
3. In a large bowl, cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then mix in the vanilla extract.
5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
6. Fold in the sliced apples, walnuts, and raisins until evenly distributed.
7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
8. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
9. Allow the cake to cool in the pan on a wire rack before serving.

Store the apple cake in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to 5 days.
