Timeless Tuna Casserole

Ingredients

12 oz egg noodles
2 tbsp unsalted butter
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
3 stalks celery, diced
1 cup frozen peas
2 cans (10 oz each) cream of mushroom soup
1 cup whole milk
2 cans (5 oz each) tuna, drained
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
3. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter and sauté onion, garlic, and celery until soft, about 5 minutes.
4. Stir in the peas, cream of mushroom soup, and milk; mix until well combined.
5. Add the drained tuna and cooked noodles, stirring gently to combine.
6. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
7. In a small bowl, combine cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, and parmesan cheese; sprinkle evenly over the tuna mixture.
8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
9. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Storage

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheating

Reheat individual portions in the microwave on medium power for 2-3 minutes or until heated through, or reheat in the oven at 300°F for about 15 minutes.
