Timeless Tomato Spaghetti Sauce

Ingredients
2 tbsp olive oil
1 medium onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp dried basil
1 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
1. Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
2. Add chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
3. Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute.
4. Pour in crushed tomatoes and tomato paste, stirring to combine.
5. Add sugar, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper.
6. Pour in water and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
7. Reduce heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
8. Stir in grated Parmesan cheese just before serving.
Storage
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
Reheating
Reheat on the stove over low heat, stirring occasionally, until warmed through.
