Timeless Sweet Potato Casserole

Ingredients
4 large sweet potatoes
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup whole milk
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup chopped pecans
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Peel and cube the sweet potatoes, then boil them in a large pot of water until tender, about 20 minutes.
3. Drain the sweet potatoes and mash them in a large bowl until smooth.
4. Stir in the softened butter, brown sugar, milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix until well combined.
5. Spread the sweet potato mixture evenly into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
6. In a separate bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, melted butter, and chopped pecans to form a crumbly topping.
7. Sprinkle the pecan mixture evenly over the sweet potatoes.
8. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, until the topping is golden brown.
9. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Storage
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Reheating
Reheat individual servings in the microwave for 1-2 minutes or until heated through. For larger portions, reheat in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10-15 minutes.
