2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
3. Beat in the eggs one at a time until well blended.
4. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually stir into the creamed mixture.
5. Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts (if using).
6. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
7. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, or until golden brown.
8. Remove from oven and let cool on the baking sheets for 2 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
