Ingredients

4 large eggs
Water enough to cover eggs by 1 inch
1 tsp salt (optional)

Instructions

1. Place eggs in a single layer at the bottom of a saucepan.
2. Add enough water to cover the eggs by at least an inch.
3. Optionally, add salt to the water to prevent cracking.
4. Bring water to a rapid boil over medium heat.
5. Once boiling, remove the saucepan from heat and cover with a lid.
6. Let the eggs sit in the hot water for 9-12 minutes, depending on desired doneness.
7. Transfer eggs to a bowl of ice water and let cool for 5 minutes.
8. Peel and serve or store as needed.

Storage

Store unpeeled boiled eggs in the refrigerator for up to one week. Peeled eggs can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.

Reheating

To reheat, place boiled eggs in a bowl of hot tap water for 3-5 minutes until warmed through.
