Swedish Meatballs with Lingonberry Sauce
These iconic Swedish meatballs are a warm and hearty dish, perfect for a chilly winter night. Made with a blend of pork and beef, these meatballs are simmered in a creamy sauce and served with a side of tart lingonberry sauce for a delightful balance of flavors.

Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 lb ground pork
1 cup breadcrumbs
1/2 cup milk
1 large egg
1 small onion, grated
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground white pepper
1/4 tsp ground allspice
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
2 tbsp butter
2 cups beef broth
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 tbsp water
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup lingonberry jam
Instructions
1. Combine breadcrumbs and milk in a large bowl and let sit for 5 minutes.
2. Add ground beef, ground pork, egg, grated onion, garlic, salt, white pepper, allspice, and nutmeg to the breadcrumb mixture. Mix until just combined.
3. Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
4. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
5. Add meatballs in batches, cooking until browned on all sides. Remove meatballs and set aside.
6. In the same skillet, add beef broth and bring to a simmer.
7. Stir in heavy cream and return meatballs to the skillet. Simmer for 10-15 minutes.
8. Mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl. Add to the sauce and stir until thickened.
9. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
10. Serve meatballs with lingonberry jam on the side.
Storage
Store leftover meatballs and sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Reheating
Reheat meatballs in a skillet over medium heat until heated through, adding a splash of beef broth if needed.
