Sugared Carrots Delight

An irresistible side dish, Sugared Carrots Delight combines tender carrots with a sweet, buttery glaze, perfect for enhancing any meal.

Ingredients

2 lbs carrots, peeled and sliced
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup unsalted butter
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 cup water

Instructions

1. In a large saucepan, combine sliced carrots and water.
2. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce to a simmer. Cover and cook until carrots are tender, about 10 minutes.
3. Drain the carrots and return them to the pan.
4. Add butter, sugar, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg to the pan.
5. Stir gently over low heat until the sugar dissolves and the butter is melted, coating the carrots evenly, about 5 minutes.
6. Serve warm, garnished with a sprinkle of fresh parsley if desired.

Storage

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheating

Reheat in a saucepan over low heat, stirring occasionally, until warmed through.
