Strawberry Pretzel Delight

Ingredients

2 cups crushed pretzels
3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
8 oz whipped topping (e.g., Cool Whip)
2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
1 (6 oz) package strawberry flavored gelatin
2 cups boiling water

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a medium bowl, mix crushed pretzels, melted butter, and 3 tablespoons sugar.
3. Press the pretzel mixture into the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
4. Bake the crust for 10 minutes, then allow it to cool completely.
5. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and 1 cup sugar until smooth.
6. Fold in whipped topping.
7. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the cooled crust.
8. Arrange sliced strawberries evenly on top of the cream layer.
9. In a separate bowl, dissolve strawberry gelatin in boiling water.
10. Let the gelatin cool to room temperature, then pour it over the strawberries.
11. Refrigerate the dessert until the gelatin is set, about 4 hours.

Storage

Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for up to 3 days.

Reheating

This dessert is best served cold and does not require reheating.
