Ingredients
4 lbs chicken pieces
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup buttermilk
2 large eggs
1 tbsp cayenne pepper
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp onion powder
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
4 cups vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, mix buttermilk and eggs to create a marinade.
2. In another bowl, combine flour, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
3. Dip chicken pieces into the buttermilk mixture, then dredge in the seasoned flour, ensuring an even coating.
4. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat to 350°F (175°C).
5. Fry chicken pieces in batches, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through, about 10-12 minutes per side.
6. Remove and drain on a wire rack.
Storage
Store leftover chicken in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Reheating
To reheat, preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake the chicken on a wire rack for 15-20 minutes until heated through and crispy.
