Ingredients

1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
4 large eggs
1 cup pumpkin puree
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1 cup chopped pecans
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
2. In a large bowl, cream together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and butter until light and fluffy.
3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the pumpkin puree and vanilla extract.
4. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves.
5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
6. Fold in the chopped pecans.
7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
8. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
9. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
