Spiced Apple-Cider Pork Chops

Ingredients

4 bone-in pork chops,1 cup apple cider,1/4 cup apple cider vinegar,2 tbsp olive oil,1 tbsp honey,1/2 tsp ground cinnamon,1/2 tsp ground ginger,1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional),2 cloves garlic, minced,1 medium apple, thinly sliced,1/2 tsp salt,1/4 tsp black pepper,1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves

Instructions

1. Pat the pork chops dry and season with salt and black pepper.
2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
3. Add pork chops and sear until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
4. Remove pork chops from the skillet and set aside.
5. In the same skillet, add garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
6. Pour in apple cider, apple cider vinegar, and honey, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
7. Stir in ground cinnamon, ground ginger, and red pepper flakes.
8. Return pork chops to the skillet and add apple slices.
9. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer until pork chops are cooked through, about 10 minutes.
10. Garnish with fresh thyme leaves before serving.

Storage

Store leftover pork chops in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheating

Reheat leftovers in a skillet over medium-low heat until warmed through, or microwave on medium power in 30-second intervals.
