Southern Sweet Potato Pie

Ingredients
2 cups mashed sweet potatoes
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
2 large eggs, beaten
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed sweet potatoes, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.
3. Stir in the melted butter, beaten eggs, evaporated milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
4. Add the ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and salt, mixing until well incorporated.
5. Pour the mixture into the unbaked pie crust, smoothing the top with a spatula.
6. Bake in the preheated oven for 55 to 60 minutes, or until the pie is set and the edges are golden brown.
7. Cool the pie on a wire rack before serving.
Storage
Store the pie covered with plastic wrap or in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
Reheating
To reheat, place a slice of pie in the microwave for 10-15 seconds or warm the entire pie in a preheated oven at 300°F (150°C) for 10-15 minutes.
