Southern Style Cornbread Dressing

Ingredients

1 batch of cornbread, crumbled
6 cups of chicken broth
1/2 cup of unsalted butter
1 cup of chopped celery
1 cup of chopped onion
1 tablespoon of poultry seasoning
1 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
3 large eggs, beaten

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped celery and onion, and sauté until soft, about 5 minutes.
3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the crumbled cornbread, sautéed vegetables, poultry seasoning, salt, and pepper.
4. Pour in the chicken broth and mix until well combined.
5. Add the beaten eggs and mix thoroughly.
6. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13 inch baking dish and spread evenly.
7. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the dressing is set in the middle.

Storage

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheating

Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C) and warm the dressing for 15-20 minutes or until heated through.
