Southern Spiced Sweet Potato Pie

Ingredients
2 1/2 lbs sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup heavy cream
3 large eggs
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1/4 tsp salt
1 tbsp orange zest
1 tbsp orange juice
1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a large pot, boil sweet potatoes until tender, about 20 minutes. Drain and let cool slightly.
3. In a mixing bowl, mash sweet potatoes until smooth.
4. Mix in melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until well combined.
5. Add heavy cream, eggs, and vanilla extract; mix thoroughly.
6. Stir in cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, and salt.
7. Fold in orange zest and orange juice.
8. Pour mixture into the unbaked pie crust and spread evenly.
9. Bake in preheated oven for 55-60 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
10. Let the pie cool on a wire rack before serving.
Storage
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
Reheating
Reheat slices in a preheated oven at 300°F (150°C) for 10-15 minutes or until warm.
