Ingredients
1.5 lbs ground beef
0.5 lbs ground pork
2 large eggs
1 cup breadcrumbs
0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp dried parsley
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried basil
0.5 tsp salt
0.5 tsp pepper
1 cup beef broth
0.5 cup milk
2 tbsp olive oil
1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, eggs, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic, parsley, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
2. Shape the mixture into 1.5-inch meatballs and set aside.
3. In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Brown the meatballs on all sides in batches, about 5 minutes per batch. Do not overcrowd the pan.
4. Place browned meatballs in the slow cooker.
5. In the same skillet, add beef broth and milk, scraping up any brown bits from the bottom. Pour over the meatballs in the slow cooker.
6. Add the marinara sauce, ensuring all meatballs are covered.
7. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-7 hours or until meatballs are cooked through and tender.
8. Serve warm, garnished with fresh parsley or more Parmesan cheese if desired.
Storage
Store leftover meatballs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Reheating
Reheat meatballs in the microwave on medium power or in a saucepan over low heat until heated through.
