Ingredients

1 lb pork sausage
3 cups cubed bread
2 medium apples, peeled and diced
1 cup chopped celery
1 cup chopped onions
1/2 cup chicken broth
1/4 cup unsalted butter
2 tbsp fresh sage, finely chopped
1 tbsp fresh rosemary, finely chopped
1 tbsp fresh thyme, finely chopped
Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a large skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until browned. Remove and drain excess fat.
3. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté onions and celery until softened, about 5 minutes.
4. Add diced apples, sage, rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir well and cook for another 3 minutes.
5. In a large mixing bowl, combine sausage, sautéed mixture, and bread cubes. Mix thoroughly.
6. Pour chicken broth over mixture and gently toss until bread is moistened.
7. Transfer stuffing into a greased baking dish and cover with foil.
8. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until top is golden and crisp.
9. Serve hot.

Storage

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheating

Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 15 minutes or until warmed through.
