Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
8 oz cremini mushrooms, finely chopped
1/2 cup onion, diced
1/2 cup red bell pepper, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup tomato sauce
2 tbsp tomato paste
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 tbsp smoked paprika
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
4 hamburger buns
2 tbsp butter
Instructions
1. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter and sauté diced onions and bell peppers until softened, about 5 minutes.
2. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
3. Increase heat to medium-high and add ground beef, cooking until browned, about 8 minutes.
4. Stir in chopped mushrooms and cook until they release their moisture and the mixture reduces, about 5 minutes.
5. Mix in tomato sauce, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper.
6. Simmer the mixture on low heat for 15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and thicken.
7. Serve warm on toasted hamburger buns.
