Savory Herb and Cranberry Thanksgiving Stuffing

Ingredients
10 cups cubed country-style bread
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 cup chopped yellow onion
1 cup chopped celery
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 1/2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
1 cup dried cranberries
1 tablespoon chopped fresh sage
1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Spread bread cubes on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for 10 minutes until lightly golden. Remove and set aside.
3. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion, celery, and garlic; sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
4. Stir in sage, thyme, and parsley; cook for an additional 2 minutes.
5. In a large mixing bowl, combine toasted bread cubes, sautéed vegetables, dried cranberries, and pecans (if using).
6. Pour in chicken broth gradually, stirring until all ingredients are moist but not soggy.
7. Season with salt and pepper.
8. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13 inch baking dish and cover with foil.
9. Bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until top is golden brown.
10. Serve warm.
Storage
Store leftover stuffing in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Reheating
Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C) and reheat the stuffing in a covered dish for 15-20 minutes or until warmed through.
