Ingredients
1 1/2 cups unsweetened applesauce
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 large eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
4. Stir in the applesauce until fully incorporated.
5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
7. Fold in the raisins and walnuts gently.
8. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
9. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
10. Allow the cake to cool in the pan before serving.
