Old-Fashioned Peach Pie

Ingredients
3 cups sliced fresh peaches
1 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon unsalted butter, diced
1 pie crust for a 9-inch pie, double crust
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
2. In a large bowl, mix the sliced peaches with sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until peaches are well coated.
3. Drizzle lemon juice over the mixture and gently stir to combine.
4. Roll out one pie crust and fit it into a 9-inch pie pan.
5. Pour the peach mixture into the crust, spreading evenly.
6. Dot the top with butter.
7. Roll out the second pie crust and place it over the filling. Trim excess pastry and crimp the edges to seal.
8. Cut slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
9. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
10. Let cool for at least 2 hours before serving to allow filling to set.
Storage
Store leftover pie loosely covered at room temperature for up to 2 days or in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
Reheating
Reheat slices in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes or until warmed through.
