Maple Pecan Pie Bars

Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
3 large eggs
1 cup pure maple syrup
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp salt
2 cups pecan halves

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
2. In a bowl, combine flour and granulated sugar, then cut in softened butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press this into the prepared baking pan to form the crust.
3. Bake the crust for 20 minutes or until lightly golden. Remove from oven and set aside.
4. In another bowl, whisk together eggs, maple syrup, brown sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
5. Stir in the pecan halves.
6. Pour the mixture over the baked crust, spreading evenly.
7. Bake for an additional 30 minutes, or until the filling is set and golden.
8. Allow to cool completely before slicing into bars.

Storage

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

Reheating

To reheat, warm the bars in a preheated oven at 300°F (150°C) for about 10 minutes.
