Ingredients

8 cups cubed day-old bread
1 cup chopped pecans
3 cups whole milk
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup pure maple syrup
4 large eggs
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp salt
2 tbsp unsalted butter (for greasing)

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, cream, maple syrup, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until well combined.
3. Add the cubed bread and chopped pecans to the bowl and gently fold to coat all pieces. Let it sit for about 10 minutes, allowing the bread to soak up the liquid mixture.
4. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading evenly.
5. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the pudding is set.
6. Remove from the oven and let cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
