Maple Glazed Coffee Brisket

Ingredients

5 lbs beef brisket
1 cup strong brewed coffee
1/2 cup maple syrup
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp onion powder
1 tbsp smoked paprika
2 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
2 tbsp olive oil
1 large onion, sliced
4 cloves garlic, minced

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 300°F.
2. In a small bowl, mix together coffee, maple syrup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the brisket on all sides until browned.
4. Place the sliced onion and minced garlic in the bottom of a large roasting pan. Set the seared brisket on top.
5. Pour the coffee and maple mixture over the brisket ensuring it is well coated.
6. Cover the roasting pan tightly with foil and roast in the preheated oven for 4 hours or until the brisket is tender.
7. Let the brisket rest for at least 20 minutes before slicing against the grain.

Storage

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

Reheating

Reheat slices of brisket in a preheated oven at 300°F, covered, until warm, about 15-20 minutes.
