Maple Buttermilk Pie

Ingredients

1 9-inch pre-made pie crust
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup buttermilk
3 large eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup pure maple syrup
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and set aside.
3. In a large bowl, mix together the granulated sugar, flour, and salt.
4. Add the melted butter, buttermilk, beaten eggs, vanilla extract, maple syrup, and lemon juice to the dry ingredients. Stir until combined.
5. Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust.
6. Sprinkle the top with ground nutmeg.
7. Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is lightly browned.
8. Allow to cool to room temperature before serving.

Storage

Store the pie covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

Reheating

Reheat slices in the microwave for 20-30 seconds or in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes.
