Maple Bourbon Brisket

A deliciously tender brisket with a unique maple bourbon glaze, perfect for adding a twist to traditional BBQ flavors.

Ingredients

5 lbs beef brisket
1 cup bourbon whiskey
1/2 cup pure maple syrup
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp smoked paprika
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp onion powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
2 cups beef broth

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
2. In a bowl, combine bourbon, maple syrup, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper to make the glaze.
3. Place the brisket in a roasting pan and pour the glaze over it, ensuring it is fully coated.
4. Add the beef broth to the pan and cover it tightly with aluminum foil.
5. Bake in the oven for 4-5 hours, or until the brisket is tender and can easily be shredded with a fork.
6. Remove the foil and increase the oven temperature to 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes to caramelize the glaze.
7. Let the brisket rest for 20 minutes before slicing and serving.

Storage

Store leftover brisket in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

Reheating

To reheat, preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C), place the brisket in a baking dish, cover with foil, and heat for 20-25 minutes or until warmed through.
