Italian Sausage and Peppers

A traditional Italian dish featuring savory sausages paired with vibrant bell peppers and onions, creating a flavorful and hearty meal perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

1 lb Italian sausage links
2 tbsp olive oil
1 large red bell pepper, sliced
1 large green bell pepper, sliced
1 large yellow onion, sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
Salt to taste
Black pepper to taste
1/4 cup chicken broth

Instructions

1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sausage links and cook until browned on all sides, about 7-10 minutes. Remove sausages from skillet and set aside.
2. In the same skillet, add sliced bell peppers, onion, and garlic. Sauté until vegetables are tender, about 5-7 minutes.
3. Slice the cooked sausages into bite-sized pieces and return them to the skillet.
4. Add red pepper flakes, salt, black pepper, and chicken broth to the skillet. Stir to combine and cook for an additional 5 minutes until heated through.
5. Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.

Storage

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheating

Reheat in a skillet over medium heat until warmed through, adding a splash of chicken broth if needed.
