Iced Coffee Granita

Beat the heat with this refreshing iced coffee granita. With its coarse texture and rich coffee flavor, it's a perfect frozen dessert for coffee aficionados.

Ingredients

2 cups freshly brewed strong coffee
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 cup heavy cream (optional)
Ice cubes (for serving)

Instructions

1. Brew 2 cups of strong coffee and stir in the granulated sugar until dissolved.
2. Add vanilla extract and allow the coffee mixture to cool to room temperature.
3. Pour the coffee mixture into a shallow metal baking dish.
4. Place the dish in the freezer and allow it to freeze for about 30 minutes.
5. Using a fork, scrape the frozen edges into the center of the dish and return to the freezer.
6. Repeat scraping every 30 minutes for about 2 to 3 hours until you have a fluffy, granular texture.
7. Once fully frozen and scraped, serve in chilled glasses with a splash of heavy cream if desired and a few ice cubes.

Storage

Store in the freezer for up to 1 week in an airtight container.

Reheating

No reheating required, serve straight from the freezer.
