Homestyle Tater Tot Bake

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup sour cream
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 package (32 oz) frozen tater tots
Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned.
3. Add chopped onion and garlic; sauté until onion is translucent.
4. Drain excess fat from the beef mixture.
5. Stir in cream of mushroom soup and sour cream into the beef mixture; combine well and season with salt and pepper.
6. Spread the beef mixture evenly into a 9x13-inch baking dish.
7. Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the beef mixture.
8. Arrange tater tots in a single layer on top of the cheese.
9. Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes.
10. Remove from oven and sprinkle remaining 1 cup of cheddar cheese over tater tots.
11. Return to oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
12. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Storage

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheating

Preheat oven to 350°F and reheat casserole until heated through, approximately 20 minutes.
