Heritage Cinnamon Swirl Cake

Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 cups granulated sugar
4 large eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup sour cream
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a Bundt pan.
2. In a large bowl, cream butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture alternately with sour cream, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
6. Stir in vanilla extract.
7. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon for the filling.
8. Pour half of the batter into the prepared Bundt pan.
9. Sprinkle the cinnamon mixture over the batter, then pour the remaining batter over the cinnamon layer.
10. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
11. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
12. For the glaze, mix powdered sugar and milk until smooth and drizzle over the cooled cake.

Storage

Store the cake in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.

Reheating

To reheat, microwave individual slices on medium power for about 15-20 seconds.
