Herbed Mushroom Salisbury Steak
A modern twist on traditional Salisbury Steak with a savory mushroom and herb gravy, perfect for a comforting homemade dinner.

Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup milk
1 egg
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 tbsp olive oil
8 oz mushrooms, sliced
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp flour
2 cups beef broth
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp dried thyme
1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
1. In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined and shape into patties.
2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 5 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
3. In the same skillet, add mushrooms and onions. Sauté for 4-5 minutes until softened.
4. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
5. Sprinkle flour over the vegetables, stir, and cook for 1 minute.
6. Gradually whisk in beef broth, soy sauce, and thyme, bringing the mixture to a simmer.
7. Return patties to the skillet and spoon gravy over them. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes until cooked through.
8. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Storage
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Reheating
Reheat gently in a skillet over low heat or microwave until heated through.
