Hearty Traditional Chili

Ingredients

2 lbs ground beef
2 cans (15 oz each) kidney beans, drained
1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
1 large onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp chili powder
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 red bell pepper, chopped
1 cup beef broth
2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
2. Add chopped onions and garlic, sauté until softened.
3. Add ground beef, cook until browned.
4. Stir in chili powder, cumin, salt, black pepper, and cayenne.
5. Add crushed tomatoes, kidney beans, and beef broth.
6. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
7. Stir in chopped green and red bell peppers, cook for an additional 15 minutes.
8. Adjust seasoning to taste before serving.

Storage

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

Reheating

Reheat in a saucepan over medium heat until heated through, stirring occasionally.
