Ingredients
4 lbs russet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
3 cups heavy cream
2 cups shredded Gruyère cheese
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp fresh thyme, chopped
2 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tbsp unsalted butter
1/4 cup chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter.
2. In a large saucepan, combine heavy cream, minced garlic, thyme, rosemary, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
3. Arrange a layer of sliced potatoes in the prepared baking dish. Pour a portion of the cream mixture over the potatoes. Sprinkle with a mix of Gruyère, cheddar, and Parmesan cheeses.
4. Repeat the layering process until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of cheese on top.
5. Cover with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
6. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley.
Storage
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Reheating
To reheat, cover the dish with foil and warm in a preheated oven at 325°F (160°C) until heated through, about 20 minutes.
