Ingredients

8 large eggs
1 cup whole milk
1 pound breakfast sausage
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup chopped onions
1/2 cup chopped green bell peppers
3 cups frozen hash browns, thawed
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a large skillet, cook the breakfast sausage over medium heat until browned. Remove and set aside.
3. In the same skillet, add butter, onions, and bell peppers; sauté until soft.
4. In a large bowl, beat eggs with milk, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
5. In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, layer hash browns, cooked sausage, sautéed vegetables, and cheese.
6. Pour the egg mixture over the layered ingredients.
7. Bake for 45 minutes or until the top is golden and the casserole is set in the middle.
8. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Storage

Allow the casserole to cool completely, cover with plastic wrap or transfer to an airtight container, and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheating

Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C) and bake uncovered for 15-20 minutes or until heated through.
