Green Bean Casserole

Ingredients
1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
1 cup whole milk
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp onion powder
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 1/2 cups crispy fried onions
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Blanch the green beans in boiling water for 3-4 minutes until bright green and slightly tender. Drain and set aside.
3. In a large mixing bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup, milk, black pepper, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until smooth.
4. Stir in the blanched green beans and half of the shredded cheddar cheese.
5. Pour the mixture into a 9x13-inch baking dish and spread evenly.
6. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese on top.
7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
8. Remove the casserole from the oven and evenly spread the crispy fried onions over the top.
9. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the onions are golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
10. Let cool slightly before serving.
Storage
Store any leftover casserole in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Reheating
Reheat leftovers in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 15 minutes, or until warmed through.
