Golden Honey Custard Pie

Ingredients

1 9-inch pre-made pie crust
1 cup whole milk
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup honey
3 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a medium saucepan, combine milk, heavy cream, and honey over medium heat. Stir until honey is fully dissolved, then remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, vanilla extract, and salt.
4. Slowly pour the milk mixture into the egg mixture, whisking constantly to avoid curdling.
5. Place the pie crust onto a baking sheet and carefully pour the custard filling into the crust.
6. Sprinkle ground nutmeg on top of the filling.
7. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the custard is set but still slightly wobbly in the center.
8. Remove from oven and let it cool to room temperature before refrigerating for at least 2 hours.

Storage

Store in the refrigerator covered with plastic wrap or in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

Reheating

To reheat, warm slices in the oven at 300°F (150°C) for 5-10 minutes until just warmed through.
