Golden Honey Almond Scones

Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and diced
1/2 cup whole milk
1/4 cup honey
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup sliced almonds
Extra honey for drizzling
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (205°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
3. Cut in the chilled butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, honey, egg, and vanilla extract.
5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, and gently stir until just combined.
6. Fold in the sliced almonds, being careful not to overmix.
7. Turn the dough onto a floured surface, and pat into a 1-inch thick round.
8. Cut the dough into 8 wedges, and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
9. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the scones are golden brown.
10. Drizzle with extra honey before serving warm.

Reheat in a 300°F (150°C) oven for 5-7 minutes or until warmed through.
